All these questions actually should be asked because each panel have a limitations for the points mentioned above and much more. I do not know what will happen if exceeded. I never did, but even if you did not exceeded, I am sure if you became close to limits, the panel performance will be slower. Moreover, If you have some screens with a large number of fields, try to make it in separitte screens It will help and you will feel the difference... To know what is the max. limits for every thing you can do in all Simatic panels, please download attached excel sheet.
A lot of panels recieved from factory to be configured using WinCC flexible 2005. If you tried to download a program configured using a higher verson, it will ask you to update its OS. may be this is the case.
