MobilePanel without Transponder

fschwa Posts: 28 Rating: (0)	Hi, we got a MobilePanel 277FI WLAN V2 with a WLAN AP (SCALANCE W 700) and are supposed to get it to work (surprise). While commissioning we encountered the problem, that the panel (WinCC) cannot establish a "safe connection" to the PLC. We tried several things but are apparently missing something. My question is rather general for now: can we run the panel without a transponder? Documentation is not very helpful here. Here it says, you need a transponder, there is says, you only need it for "zoning". We do not use zones. We have one panel and several WLAN antennas for one AP, which is connected to the PLC. More specific questions might follow, but I want to get this uncertainty out of the way and read more docs before. :) Thanks. Regarfs, fschwa

A transponder is needed to form "zones" there you can use the safety functions of the panel. But you can also use this functions if you use the "override" mode. We did not get it to work yet but by going through that application we found quite some things we did not do correctly and made some overall progress. And it's good to know that we do not have use transponders. The rest continues next week. Thanks and regards fschwa
