Hit_Formula Experienced Member Joined: 2/20/2010 Last visit: 2/19/2025 Posts: 104 Rating: (7)	Dear All, I am Trying to communicate CADEL Energy meter with IM-151-8 PN/DP PLC systemon 6ES7138-4DF11-0AB0 module. I had used S_RCV and S_SEND blocks for communication as given in sample program. but during all activites I got error code 0837h in recieving block, I had tried with puted 330 ohm resistance at both end, try with different baud rates, parities but all time same error code was coming. My doubt is whether this module can support MODBUS-RTU frame work??? Because in CADEL energy meter manual it is given in Modbus RTU framework and function code. can anybody suggest me.

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 3/17/2025 Posts: 12344 Rating: (2707)	Hello Hit_Formula; Error code Hex 0837 on the 1SI module refers to a "Message frame sequence error", see the attached screencapture, from the SIMATIC ET 200S Serial interface modulesmanual. Try to increase the slave timeout parameter as proposed in the manual. See section 3.5.3 of the mentionned manual, Configuring and setting parameters for the Modbus master, page 144, Response time. I had tried with another make meter also butin that Ifound same error code. (0830h) If you have any sample program so that i can refer it.

I had connected cable as From Master R(A) to Slave R(A) and another cable is connected with terminal R(B) at both end also connected groung terminal but still I get same error. Today I had configure 1 CP modbus device as Master and another CP modbus device as slave on ET-200S rack in that case connection was establish and I got data, now same parameter when I configure in my real slave device and try to communicate but still I will get same error code (08 30h).
