Hi all, I've been trying to get modbus communication running on a 1511F-1 PN CPU (6ES7 511-1FK02-0AB0) and I'm having trouble even getting started. I've started out with the "Master-Slave Communication via a CM PtP using the Modbus RTU Protocol" sample but if I change the CPU type to the correct one I get the error "The 'Modbus_Comm_Load V3.0' data type is not supported on this CPU or by the current library version." I'm using TIA portal 15 and I seem to be using the latest firmware version on the CPU. I've got CM PtP RS422/485 HF modules as recomended by this article "Which hardware and software components do you need to establish communication between SIMATIC S7 stations and third-party devices using the MODBUS RTU protocol?" but the only thing it says about the CPU is "The SIMATIC S7-1500 station can be used as Modbus Master (RTU) or Modbus Slave (RTU).". Am I missing something obvious here? Many thanks, Ben. |
