Modbus TCP with 410-5H problem A100

Hello everybody,

I'm trying to get some information form a TicNet having some JSON capability and Modbus TCP with a CPU 410-5H used alone. The TicNet is directly connected to the CPU via RJ45 port 0.

I'm using Modbuspn block and configured it with the db_param but get A100 problem. i tried different ways but unsuccessfully... The TicNet has a "slave" address (80), i don't find where to define it.

IP of CPU : 140.80.0.3

IP of TicNet : 140.80.0.4

I suppose doing it wrong as i can reach what i want from a software (Modbus doctor), i give you the connections information to compare to my setup in PCS7.

Every help would be much appreciated.

I'm able to receive DONE_NDR =1 and tried to find values in my DB111 set up in the DB_PARAM but nothing appeared there.

One more strange thing, I can set my START_ADDRESS of MODBUSPN block from 10 to 14 while asking 4 words (max allowed per request TicNet side), else, I got A006 error...

I assume that under 10 is below the declared address in DB_PARAM but 16 should be OK...

Hello,
yes, A006 means that you try to access an register address which has not been mapped. Please note: changes in the parameter-DB require an initialisation of MODBUSPN by means of an OB100 execution.

1. I didn't change anything in the DB_PARAM, i'm talking about the start_adress of the MODBUSPN block itself.

2.As the TicNet isn't able to handle request of more than 4 words, shouldn't I send X requests of 4 words and split them in different DB?

I started back from the start and configured this :

Param_db_60 for 1st request :

ID_DB 111

start adress 10 (first value needed in TicNet)

end address 57 (I need only this over 156 available on 32 bits format)

I created the DB 111 and param_db_60 by the Siemens wizard.

I checked into those DB and everything seems ok.

I downloaded this in the PLC by specifying to download DB, I get the 80B1 error meaning DB should be created and copied to PLC.

I even tried by splitting Data DB in 4 words but got the same result...

Yes i reboot the cpu for every modification of DB or modbuspn CFC block as specified in manual.

To avoid to miss that, i do a full download of cpu with DB loading after every modification.

Th'at's why i a bit lost, something is set wrong but can't define what is it.
