I`m planning to establish 8 modbud TCP connection between a 1513-1 PN CPU.

Equipment to be connected is Bender iso685-S-P+FP200.

My question is can I just connect the 8 Benders unit to the same network as the CPU is connected to and then get the communication up and running.

Must the CPU be the modbus master and the benders unit modbus clients then?

Is there any limitation in the CPU? will I got any problem here ?

It`s alarms I will take out and I don`t need low response time, so I can connect to and one bender device...  As longs as the latency will then be many seconds.. ? These will go quick any way?

Do you have some example of logic? Do i do something in the HW or only in the user program to get the communication up and running?

look to Step7 TIA v14 SP1 manual or older version with MB_CLIENT block. There is also perfect example about connection to Server, collect some data and also system how connect to more Servers via independed connections with one MB_CLIENT. I think this is your solution, then you can collect data from your Servers in 'one time' and can quickly collect data.

Right now the bender Modbus server is not my hardware configuration, must I add it to the hardware configuration as a device? what device shall I choice?

Hello,

you don't need to configure some HW in Topology or Network in case of Modbus. This is realised via defined connection with to know IP addresses of Server, Port and use of proper block/instruction - MB_CLIENT. Look again back to all recommendations from our posts. Add MB_CLIENT instruction to your code and set all parameters as is required, you can check (as was recommended already) TIA system manual where are examples how configure CLIENT for different requests of data. Pls download TIA system manual of your used version.

Update: pls give better info about interface ID. Where you have info about to put/set it? What you want to do?
