sukrija razic Advanced Member Joined: 9/14/2011 Last visit: 3/21/2025 Posts: 34 Rating: (4)	Dear all, in my project i am facing with following problem:I use CP 341 with physiscal RS422 as modbus master, on other side is Intecont Plus weighing units from schenk.I can read every unit one by one, but my problems starts when i a connect two or more units, i can not get any data on master. Error which i get is sporadicly 0x830 or 0x831. Also i can watch communication data on scale and i see that request is comming and there is response from scale, but i see one more response with delay of two seconds with all zeroes(2 sec is reply monitoring time). Configuration is following: Master: S:9600kb, parity 8-E-1, RMT:2000ms Slaves: S:9600kb, parity 8-E-1, RMT:2000ms Any idea? Thanks in advance.

Kaulquappe Posts: 3093 Rating: (324)	Hello Sukrija, do you use 4-wire connection (RS422)or 2-wire-connection (RS485). If you want to connect more than one slave, you need a 2-wire-connection. Regards, Kaulquappe

sukrija razic Advanced Member Joined: 9/14/2011 Last visit: 3/21/2025 Posts: 34 Rating: (4)	Hello, thanks for reply, i use four wire connection(RS422), i tried 2 wire connection, but i get even worse situation. on two wire connection after first request, RX starts to work without request(Flashing all time). so i decided to work with four wire, and then i see regulary TXRX, but there is no data. also in manual of scale both ways of communication are supported.

Kaulquappe Posts: 3093 Rating: (324)	Hello Sukrija, which operating mode do you use: normal operation or interference supression? I'd recommend "interference supression". Which monitoring time do you use? Did you try to increase the monitoring time? Can you attach a trace of the data transfer? Regards, Kaulquappe

I will try to set bigger time, that was my idea to. tommorow i go to fieldand i will try to make printout of communication from scale. Thanks for sos far, Sukrija

sukrija razic Advanced Member Joined: 9/14/2011 Last visit: 3/21/2025 Posts: 34 Rating: (4)	Dear all, I have done more detailed analizing of communication and noticed following: slave respond on request of master correctly but slave also replywith zeroes when master try to reach other slave. example: In program i make2 queries, in response from slave i got following-one correct reply and one with zeroes 2 sec after first one(reply monitoring time on master). If i make3 queries, i got one corect reply andtwo withzeroes(query 2 and 3). Any idea? Best regards, Šukrija

Kaulquappe Posts: 3093 Rating: (324)	Hello Sukrija, are you really sure, that the Schenk devices are capable of bus communication (one master several slaves)? Which trace program did you use to monitor the data traffic? When a CP341 as modbus master would receive data like shown in your file Scale_1 (a lot of zeros) this data would be ignored. sukrija razic Advanced Member Joined: 9/14/2011 Last visit: 3/21/2025 Posts: 34 Rating: (4)	Dear Mr. Kaulquappe, I monitor scales with their program(Schenk easyserve), there is tool fieldbus monitor. when you ask for Onemaster -multiple slaves, i saw in documentation of scale there is for modbus schematics for multipoint networks(RS422 and RS485), so i suppose that multiple slaves can be connected in one master
