Hello guys,

Since we had someone accidently setting the CPU417 mode selector switch to "STOP"  and costed the plant 10.000 euro, we are looking for a solution. I've had a new CPU delivered about half year back and it was delivered with a small cap which goes over the mode selector. You can then screw it on the bottom and the mode switch is now protected. I cannot find a order number for this anywhere...Does anyone know what I'm talking about and what the order number is?

 This topic has been discussed previously in the following topic.I also agree with our friend H-H that mentioned cap is not in accessory list for S7-400 Automation system .

I personally guess it was just to protect the selector switches during shipment.

I don't think this piece will be available anymore because all new PCS7 bundles are based on S7-410H which doesn't have a mode selector switch.

Maybe, you can ask your local Siemens office if they have some of these plastic cover before you start your investment.
