Hello All,

I need to establish the connection between IM 151-8 and another device thru Modbus PN, for reading data from device to DB. I'm using an example from Siemens: 109479369_ModebusTCP_Communication_v10 . I made some changes in example (I'm using only one device, IP - 192.168.1.50 and port - 42001 of device, port of PLC - 502,...).
Now I have an Error: A009, and with Wireshark I can see the PLC is asking, if ther is an device with IP 192.168.1.50. The device does not answer to the PLC.

How shold I know, if ther is a Problem in PLC settings - DB2 MODEBUS_PARAM, or the Problem is an the side of Device?

To check the modus configuration of PLC then try to use standard modbus simulation software.

For example, if PLC is modbus server then use Modscan as Modbus TCP client.

If PLC is modbus client then use Modsim as Modbus server.

Modscan always act as modbus client. And modsim as modbus server.

The PLC is Client (Port 502). So an ModeSiM I made followed setting an Modebus/TCP Service Port: 502.

Is this correct? an Device I have Port 42001.

The ModSIM looks connected to Port 502 - PLC. The ID is 1, Address 0100, Length 100. But all Data are on 0.

In modsim you need to use the port number which is configured as Modbus server port in PLC programming. Its not PLC port. 

Also at PLC side you need to define that either you need to write on server or want to read from server.

After opening ModSIM then u need to define the server port which is configured in PLC program, not plc port and device ID. Then Modsim will act as ServEr with that port number so PLc will try to findout server as Modsim.

The Port an Device is 42001. If I type this Number in, then I get an Error: Please enter an integer.

Can you try with Port 502/2000 instead  of 42001 as a server port?

Here PLC as client IP  address 192.168.0.1 and remote Server IP 192.168.0.200 and port is 2000(7D0).

If modsim is not success then try with modview TCP modbus simulator software.

Cuase i have checked modsim (Server)communication with only S7300 PLC. It never works with S71200/S71500 PLC.

I attached my test Project. I have now an Error A093. The PLC (IM151-8) is Client. In DB2  I have:

local_tsap_id 502

rem_tsap_id 502 (Device have Port 502, the 42001 is Service Port for Device)

IP of Device 192.168.1.50

"CONTROL_STATUS".CONN_ESTABLISHED is on true, BUSY and ERROR are flashing - Error: A093.

I tried with ModScan (directly connected to Device - server) and I was able to see some Data. With ModSim and modview TCP I have no luck. With this settings in DB2 I have an Error A093. If I look with Wireshark I think, that the PLC is connected with PC and not with Device thats weird. But the PLC does't ask for Device anymore.

IP PC 192.168.1.100, Device 192.168.1.50, PLC 192.168.1.1.

An PC is an Program, and the Device is communicating with Program, the Data are also available through Modebus to PLC.
