Monitoring S7-300 & S7-400 CPU in one Wincc project

Behrooz Posts: 30 Rating: (0)	There are 2 projects in two plcaes far from each other which one of them used Step 7 & Wincc for a S7-300 project and in the other side there is a project which it's used CFC and PCS7 for a S7-400 CPU. I want to monitor both of them in one wincc project as SCADA. I would be so appreciate if someone can help me. In other word i want to merge 2 existing wincc project and use their PDLs for scada and monitoring in one project as server.

Niranjan Prasad Posts: 691 Rating: (37)	HI Behrooz You can merge the S7-300 project in the PCS7 and work with the project Make two Connections in the WinCC Tag Management You have to copy the PDLs(you may have to reassign the Tags in the Pdls)

guinex Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Dear Behrooz, There are several approaches to your question, The best way would be to use S7-400 PLC as a gateway for the S7-300 PLC to PCS7. Transfer all points from S7-300 to S7-400 using standard TCP communication. Then simply configure these points in PCS7 and compile and distribute. This will be in long term a good solution. But the problem is that you will have to do more work. The other option would be to add a Manual WinCC Chanel driver in the PCS7 project and copy the Tags and PDL's. You can use profibus or MPI for this communication if the distance is not too long. This way you will be able to do the job more eaisly but is not the PCS7 way. Hope the above solutions help.
