[motion control] use move absolute or move relative

I then call that fc block in OB1. If I stop powering the fc block and then turn it back on, will the above move commands execute again? Regards, Tuan

So the best guess: No, the move commands will not trigger again. The move commands executes on a rising edge. There is a problem if the enable of the FC is removed while the execute input of the move command is still high. The move command needs to "see" the execute input go low. Extending the enable of the FC for one scan more so that the execute input can go low, will solve the problem. ** It has been assumed that the S7-1200 or S7-1500 based processor is used with Step7 V13.2.0.4 or later. How the internals of the FC look like and how the FC is called is also assumed.

Then I give M1.5=0, M1.6=1 then I want FC block to also run. Inside the FC block are the Move Absolute commands. I actually ran it but it didn't work. Can you give me the solution. It is not apparent what the use of M1.5 and M1.6 is in your application. Understanding the application will allow us to produce a more focussed reply. Consider not controlling the EN of FC1. Better to have TRIGGER input. Mister T Silver Expert Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 5/16/2023 Posts: 394 Rating: (54)	Hello, if you use the "motion control commands" (function blocks) out of the "technology instructions", it will work like this: MC_POWER With setting "enable" TRUE, you will "start" or "power on" the axis and it will be able to move. With "enable" FALSE you will "power off" the axis (causing an emergency stop, if you do that when axis is moving) MC_MOVEABSOLUTE / MC_MOVERELATIVE / MC_MOVEVELOCITY With rising edge at "execute", you start the motion control command and the axis will start moving. The axis will still go on, if you put "execute" to FALSE again. MC_HALT With rising edge at "execute", you will stop the movement. In overview, you could remember this: Input "enable" of motion control commands is signal controlled, switching the command on (TRUE) and off (FALSE) Input "execute" of motion control commands is edge controlled. You could only start the command with a rising edge at the input signal. The program cycle before, the signal must be FALSE to generate a rising edge! Maybe, this will be helpful for you...
