Move input UDT to Temp in STL

Hello,

I’m trying to move a UDT from an input of an FC to a Temp in combination with Optimized block access.

#i_UDT_PLT is the Input, type: UDT_something

#t_UDT_PLT is the Temp, type: UDT_something

In SCL this is simple:

#t_UDT_PLT := #i_UDT_PLT;

But in STL it gives an error (see attachment) as I want to do the same:

CALL BLKMOV

blk_type:=Variant

SRCBLK :=#i_UDT_PLT

RET_VAL :=#t_Return_Value

DSTBLK := #t_UDT_PLT

The error is: "You cannot access an optimized memory area from this location". But the online help van TIA says nothing about warnings of Optimized memories. And it’s strange because with the same instruction ( := ) it's possible in SCL.

To avoid this problem it’s possible to use MOVE_BLK_VARIANT but this instruction uses a lot of CPU performance.And is a no go for my program.

Can someone explain why this instruction does not work in STL in combination with Optimized Access. Or has another option to avoid it?

I use a PLC 1518F with TIA Portal V13 update 4.

Maybe a stupid question, but how to copy in STL? Because that's exactly what i want.... I'm not an expert in STL

How about the MOVE block? It accepts UDTs.

actually I want to generalize this issue. When we have a DB that has optimized access are we allowed to have indirect access to the DB? 

For example, if I want to copy big amounts of data from various DBs to a final DB (where for example an HMI has access) by calling BLKMOV a couple of times, am I allowed to do this if those DBs have optimized access?
