MP177 (6AV6652-2JC01-2AA0) doesn''t appear in the TIA V11

RandomCoder Experienced Member Joined: 8/16/2010 Last visit: 7/8/2024 Posts: 50 Rating: (8)	Hello, [schnippschnapp] My next problem (and maybe this should go in a new thread) is that the MP177 (6AV6652-2JC01-2AA0) doesn't appear in the TIA V11 device configuration list, although it is listed in the supported hardware. Do I need to update the device listing and if so how Thanks for all the advice, RandomCoder Splitted from Alternative for S7-400.

RandomCoder Experienced Member Joined: 8/16/2010 Last visit: 7/8/2024 Posts: 50 Rating: (8)	Hi Wizard (sorry for the delayed response, hadn't realised a new thread had been started), I'm using WinCC Flexible 2008 SP2 Advanced and Step 7 Professional 2010 both of which have been upgraded to versionV11. The MP177 appears in WinCC but if I run TIA Portal V11 the device is not listed. I've checked the supported hardware for TIA V11 and itlists the MP177so I am wondering if I need to update the catalogue but do not know how? I've checked the Forum and read the help files but alas I'm stuck. So far I haveticked thecheck box'Product support information' 'via internet' in the 'Tools>Settings>Hardware configuration' menu but this appears to have changed nothing. For now I am programming the dispaly directly in WinCC instead of going throughthe TIA Portal. Thanks, RandomCoder. PS I'm pretty new to Siemens and TIA Portal, so most likely just doing something wrong

After your update it normally should be STEP7 V11 Prof. and WinCC v11 Advanced (or Comfort). But I had have a look to my installed V11 and there is only one MP177 listed (6AV6642-0A01-3AX0). It is older then your, so the age can not be the reason. Maybe with one of the next SP there will be more panels available. Have you tried a migration of your existing WinCC flexible 2008 project?

You will find that WinCC v11 Basic only supports Basic panels. You need at least WinCC v11 Comfort. (Or WinCC v11 Advanced) Best regards, Wizard

Dear Robster, The reason you can not find the mentioned MP177 (6AV6 652-2JC01-2AA0) is because it is a combination of WinAC MP and MP177 See this link: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=6AV66522JC012AA0&caller=view So that is the reason you can not find it. You will not find the MP177 (6AV6652-2JC01-2AA0), because it is a Starterpackage, containing the MP177 (6AV6 642-0EA01-3AX0) (Which you can find in WinCC v11 Comfort or higher) and WinAC MP (Soft PLC for MP panel) Hope this will clear everything Otherwise don't hesitate to ask anything.
