Firstly, would it be possible to use the MP277F IWLAN withouta Scalance AP? ie using another industrial wireless AP, but not a Scalance model. Secondly, if a MP277F IWLAN moves out of range of it's access point, what is the reaction of the safety system to the lost estop? Is it configurable to "keep last state" so that the entire system doesn't go into estop when the wireless signal is lost? Many thanks for your help.

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	1) Do you have to use more than one AP which means that the the MP has to change between the different APs (Roaming)? If yes you will need the iPCF-MC functionality which is only provided by Siemens RR-APs. 2) There is an application example which explains the behaviour of the system if the MP leaves the area of the AP. It depends on your program: Always make sure that the signal strength is sufficient. If the radio link quality is too poor, a “global rampdown” is initiated. Depending on the created program, a defined slow stop of the associated machines is executed in the F-program.
