MPC implementation

selver Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I spent several weeks trying to figure out how to implement a Model predictive controller on S7-1200. Unfortunately, I have not been able to make any progress.Could any of you give me some help?. Thanks.

PCS7 of course demands usage of an S7-400 and the APC add-on certainly won't work on an S7-1200, but perhaps it gives you ideas on what to do - or - makes you realise that the 1200 mayperhaps not be a sutiableplatformto implement a MPC: PCS7 APC - Advanced Process Control PCS7 APC Portfolio - White Paper Model Predictive Control - Introduction I hope this helps

Hello selver pls explain more about your project. for example : whats your system that you want to mpc control ? is your system is siso or mimo? as you know the work memory of cpu s7-1200 is only 75 kbytes so your program should not be contain long loops or complex .. you can program your control strategy with scl language and convert to FB to use it in OB1. i suggest you first program your algorithm in matlab then create scl codes form Matlab function. now you have scl codes and you can easily create FB from scl codes in TIA Portal software.
