Hi Paresh example: If you want to set up Master - Slave communications of two PLC's. The slave(passive) PLC can be settup on Profibus DP. You can do this in Simatic manager. In your Hardware catalog. On your DP line, you can add a master from: Profibus DP >> Configured Stations >> "Select the desired master which you want to be configured as a slave device" Devices that are purely passive (Slave) device can only be settup as a passive device. Same principle applies. In Simatic Manager you would locate the slave device normaly found in Profibus DP of the hardware catalog. If the device is a none Siemens device then you would have to install a GSD file. AttachmentMaster Slave Comms.pdf (384 Downloads) |

Hi J_Bell I guess he has seen this in SetPG/PC Interface ,when we select MPI/Profibus . We can see this in MPI/Profibus Diagnostic. When we interface MPI Communication between S7300/400 & S7200. WeconfigureS7300/400 as MPI Master & S7200 as MPI Slave . We can use X_PUT (SFC67)/ X_GET(SFC68)for Data exchange. In this case you can consider S7 300/400 as Active Station & S7200 as Passive Station. I think this type of configuration is limited between S7300/400 & S7200 only. foe more details go through ths FAQ, http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/23548936 I hope thisis helpful . I have never seen this type of interface with other than siemens devices. If anybody has seen this configuration with 3rd Party Devices please let us know . |
