Thermo Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Dear I have a problem in cominucation between PC and CPU313C. I built a project. In NETPRO there is a simatic 300 station and a MPI subnet. I connect the MPI of the STATION to subnet. I know that I must set the set PC/PG interface and use a PC adaptor for connection between PC and CPU via it. The RS232 cable is attached between COM1 and RS232 port of PC adaptor. I set the parameter of PC/PG interface as follow: - I select PCadaptor(MPI) and choose the properties - in propeties I determine the address in station parameter equal 0. - in network parameter the speed is set in 187.5kb/s similar to speed of subnet in NETPRO. -finally I select COM1 port and 19200 kb/s for comminucation via this port. I also set the MPI adress of simatic station to 2. but the connection can not be stabilished. I would to know why. Is it necessory to add a PC/PG in NETPRO. or another parameters are important and I have not consider them. Best Regard

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	First of all you have to ensure, that network parameters are proper. To obtain this i can advise following. Delete MPI subnet from S7 project, but set all network parameters (address =2) in PLC. Connect PC adapter to PLC and to PC. You may have small switch on PC adapter (19200/38400) - determing speed of exchange, so make sure it equals speed in setting PC/PG interface.Ensurein PC/PGinterfacethataddressofPCisNOT2. If everything is done - enter Step 7 -> Display Accessible nodes. Here you must see PLC with address 2. If you don't have to work from PC with PLC constantly (i.e. no SCADA on PC for example), and make up connection only for PLC programming that would be enough. If you do (i.e. some programm on PC must have constant connection with PLC) - there is some more things to do - add MPI subnet, insert proper station etc. - but i doubt it's the situation you have.

Thermo Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Dear I thank you for your help but when I select display node in plc this massage appears: communication link to the adaptor damaged. but in set pc/pg I select com1 with 19200 speed and also address is 0. but I dont know why the communication does not stabilished. If you have any idea pleas inform me.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, may you tell us what type of Cable and Adaptor you use? At best with Order number for each used cable and connector. I hope you are sure that the RS232 Cable is not a standard Cable.... and that you have to connect the RS 485 Interface of the PC Adaptor to the MPI Port directly (no other Plug, Cable or Connector). One last question, is the CPU brand new or has it been loaded before? Best regards J_Bell

Thermo Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	The order number of TS adaptor is 6ES7 972_0CA34_0XA0 THIS TEAP of adaptor can work with rs232 cable and com port of pc. the cpu is 313c. cpu connect to adaptor correctly because this cable has been attached originally. Do i install any further software for this tip of adaptor or not

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Thermo, you are definitely right, the TS Adaptor V 5.2 can work with the serial Interface of a PC too, but if you study the Manual SIMATIC PC Adapter/TS Adapter Kurzanleitung/Quick Reference Guide/Notice d.utilisation/Instrucciones breves/Istruzioni brevi in Chapter 6.2 you see the Pin out of the Cable you need to connect the PC to the Adaptor, because the cable needed is anull modem Cable (Order# 6ES7 901-1BF00-0XA0). The cable deliveredwith theunit is, asyou surelyknow for the use with a Modem. Best regards J_Bell

Thermo Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Dear I want to use the COM port of the pc to programm the plc. the rs232 cable is ok for communication. I think the cables are correct. but the communication can not be stabilished. Are there another parameter to detemine or need further software for installing.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Thermo, I am sorry, but you will not get around the null modem Cable, and the installation of TS Adapter Software. Otherwise you can not select the TS Adaptor as Interface where you have to select if you want to use Modem service or direct Online Service. Best regards J_Bell
