rob636363 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	I learnt how to setup a s7-300 CPU etc over a year ago, i've just tried to setup another one and i can't get the hardware config to download to the cpu. The mpi doesn't seem to connect. Ive created a new project selected my psu/cpu/io. Now if i remember correctly i need to download this to the CPU. So cpu is switched to stop, mpi is plugged in. Stop light is continuously flashing. I click download to module - it shows my 315-2dp - i click ok. next is the select node address screen - shows mpi address 2 i click view and i get the following message Online. The local MPI address for the programming device/pc is higher than the maximum node address or the wrong transmission rate or wrong interrupt is set. Ive selected mpi in set pg/pc interface only other thing to note im using an aftermarket mpi

Plug connector to PLC, on this connector plug your Adapter cable, set resistor on connector to ON and try connect to PLC. Helpful?

rob636363 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hi, I don't have a profibus cable to usb. Only mpi to usb. This is a cpu i bought second hand would i need to reset it somehow maybe?

You need simply only put to your PLC MPI port that connector and to it's female put your cable, then use as I posted before. Update: your flashing STOP light mean probbaly not correct MRES initiation, press switch to MRES again to reset PLC again. Attachment DP_Connector.gif (300 Downloads)

rob636363 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hi, Yes i realised shortly after you posted. unfortunately the only connectors i have do not have mpi on the back. I switched to memory reset and now the sf light has gone out but stop is still flashing. Any ideas what to look for to get the mpi working?

Then I discovered that problem can be with some resistance, look to connector, it has resistor about some value. Simply if you're elctronic experienced look for same resistor value and connect as is described. It can be also bad for you, you can also maybe broke your device with improper instalation, therefore I've recommend to use that DP connector. Another solution can be use your one side connector and create from it another 2 wire cable with proper conversion connector to your MPI cable female-male. In that situation you can also set that resistor but this is also not comfortable, but if you believ to yourself make that test. To MRES/STOP, if you now put switch to run, what happened? Update: simply I don't recommend to you make any experiments if you're not experienced with that, better will be somewhere get that both side connector.

Duris_I Diamond Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 2/7/2024 Posts: 10533 Rating: (821)	No, it can be other problem. Try pls turn off PLC, put off MMC card, again put MMC inside and turn on PLC. Make complete RESET with MRES. Sometimes that RUN will go after some time, about some seconds, maybe after that to SF in case of some inconsistency of HW or program error. Try and give info, if it will be same, only probably download propper HW and Program must be made.
