mtp1900 HMI stuck on "waiting for connection"

Hello all,

the HMI is stuck on the "waiting for connection" page following an attempt to update the firmware .

I'm using v17,i've seen other threads about this topic,but the explanations were not too clear.

i've tried to follow the instructions,but when I reach the "connect" step in the firmware update ,tia portal fails to connect even though the HMI gets assigned the IP address at X2  

what should take as the next step ?

I recommend using ProSave to restore the factory settings. At least this is my preferred method to do the reset or transfer another image version. And I do it several times a day.

In addition to the steps described in the manual, please use 'Set PG/PC Interface (32-bit)' in the Windows Control Panel to configure the interface you are using (use the TCPIP variant) for the access point 'S7ONLINE'.

thank you for you answer.

However i'm not able to interact by the touch screen of the HMI,so the steps 1,3,4 and 5 mentioned in your link,i'm not able to do them .

the screen is already frozen on "waiting for connection" page ,I am able to assign the HMI an IP through X2 and X1 however when i try to restore/update through the maintenance tab in tia portal,the connection fails.

about proSave

the IP address I have to enter,is it the one that's already on the hmi,or is it like assigning that IP to it.

and the software that has to be entered,can it be just the update,or the original lisence(base OS) that I have with a DVD
