Multiple connections over I-device

GreyEye Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello, I try to make Communications over I-device. My network have 4 PLC (319F-3 PN/DP). In one PLC I create gsd with 3 separate data exchange areas and copy gsd (shared I-device) to all others PLCs. Access to every area is limited only to one PLC. My best result is that 2 from 3 PLCs can read data from sender. Is it possible to make this run? Regards

Rated X Posts: 1547 Rating: (129)	Hello, with PROFINET normaly you have controller - device communication. A device is regular assigned to one controller. Why do you not use the open TCP Communicaiton using the PN interface of the CPU's? Wizard for creating connection data for open TCP/IP communication (Open Communication Wizard). With this configuration you can handle up to 8 connections simultaneous.

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 3/20/2025 Posts: 3042 Rating: (1061)	Hello GreyEye I'm afraid to say that the 319F-3 PN/DP has a limit of a maximum of 2 I/O Controllers when used as a Shared Device,which perfectly explains what youalready observed (this value is listed in the PROFINET IO Device section of the technical spec of the6ES7318-3FL01-0AB0).
