Names of new tags

fbelic Posts: 327 Rating: (28)	Greetings Is there any option to set that makes the names of new tags automatically take the names of the symbols, as it was with WinCC flexible? I tried with reconnecting, but it's also missing that "Replace tag name with symbol name" option... Best regards

Eric K Posts: 25 Rating: (1)	We have been able to get "reconnect tags" to work in V11, but it does NOT update the HMI name to the PLC name. This might be corrected in V12?

Eric K Posts: 25 Rating: (1)	It looks like this works: 1. Copy your PLC Tag list from your HMI into Excel 2. Using basic excel commands like "=find()", "=mid", etc() or basic Search and Replace, clean up all your tags to be they way you want, then past them back in, over the top of your existing HMI tag Column (do NOT reorder anything in the meantime). Manipulation is very easy to do in excel, and now since we have cut and paste functionality cross TIA Portal and Office, I think that method is the most flexible, until things are corrected in Portal.
