Dear sundar, You want a WinCC station to communicate via profibus to S7-PLC's. So when you have a CP5613 A2 card in PC, you need additional software S7-5613 (part of Simatic net CD) Here is a link: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/31675909 The part number is: 6GK1713-5CB71-3AA0 (just one per PC) Then it's no problem to access 7 S7-PLC's Perhaps this link is useful: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/21917733 Best regards, Wizard |

Hello Sundar; Simatic Net is a suite of drivers that are used to connect a PC with S7 PLCs. You have drivers for Profibus, for Industrial Ethernet, for OPC (now included with the licenses). You need to define the type of network, the hardware you will use in the PC (this will determine if you need a Hardnet or a Softnet driver)and the type of connection you want to establish before selecting the specific Simatic Net driver you will buy. You would not need to use the OPC channel driver for this application. But for more info on OPC, I can suggest at least a look at Wikipedia, for starters: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OLE_for_process_control OPC partners are divided in servers (who provide a list of data for the clients) and clients (who request specific data from the servers). Follow the link in the above article to the OPC Foundation site, you will find much litterature there that could be informative. The CP and driver proposed by Wizard will allow the WinCC PC to operate as a Profibus-DP Master Class 2; as such. it can interrogate any Profibus master on the Profibus network, which by the drawing you provided would be the 5 main PLCs in your project (you will have to make sure the PLC's Profibus interface has a profibus address configured). All you need to do is to create tags in WinCC in the S7 Protocol Suite, under Profibus, making sure the tags point to the correct CPU (this is done in the tag configuration screens; look at the WinCC Online Help). The amount of tags you will be able to use will be limited onlyby the number of tags in your RC/RT licenses; so your PC can talk to as many S7 CPUs you want over Profibus, as long as you do not exceed your license tag limits. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
