Hi Thanks for the information. I don't see any distance range in the document that would provide 54Mbps. Do you have any information on this? I sent an email to the contact you advised me. However I am not sure if he can provide information in Wireless products as this is not listed in his competences. Thank you |

Dear techtips03, The distance which is possible with a Wireless LAN and the full available bandwidth is not just a number which we can give. it depends on a lot of things. Mostly the enviroment is very important. You told it's is placed outside, will it have a clear line of sight? Or is there a building, tree or something in between? What kind of antenna will you use? Directional or omni-directional, this depends on the application you need. Furthermore it's also good to know that Siemens has a SINEMA-E WLAN Design software packet. More information about this you can find with the following URL: www.siemens.com/sinema Is your application also installed in the USA? If yes you may use more power to send comparing to most of the European countries, there is also a special version of the Scalance W devices for use in North America. [:P] |

Hi Sarat! To get technical specifications of SCALANCE wireless products check the A&D Mall. For example the SCALANCE W788-2RR Access point has a degree of protection of IP 65 and a operating temperature range of -20°C to +60°C (resistant to condensation). So this device can be used as an outdoor access point. See also the manual. To find contact numbers see Sales Locations and Distributor Locator for Siemens Energy & Automation. |
