Humble Greetings - 

As our project design has advanced, we are finding we need more tags in our HMI than the 2048 specified in the TP900 datasheet. Other than using a larger display, is there any way to mitigate this confinement? Ideally, we need to display around 3000-3500 variables from the PLC proxy. It just seems unfitting that the TP900 is capable of 500 screens but only 2048 external tags. We expect to use about 60 screens.

I don't think it's possible to increase the number of tags   normally you do before the project is evaluated how many tags require and then choose the panel, it is not like in WinCC that you can increase (buy) more power tags.

Hi Ste39 - agreed, it's like the HMI selection was an afterthought with our effort  . And the engineer that selected it is indeed gonna cry. But I don't think he envisioned us wanting to use the HMI to the diagnostic extent that now seems so practical. We were hoping there was some clever way to mitigate - but sounds like we'll need to cut back on user data - or re-cut metal and buy/install the larger display with 4096 tags (doubtful).
