Hello experts, i need recommendations about temperature transmitter for steam T=250°C P=0-20 bar. Could you help me in the selection of insertion lenght and thermowell form? 1 pipe is DN 80 and another pipe is DN 100... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Thermowells are subject to breakage from vibration induced by a flow stream at a resonant frequency caused by vortex shedding (wake). The standard covering the wake frequency calculations for thermowells was updated in 2010: ASME PTC 19.3 TW-2010 ABB has an application note here: https://library.e.abb.com/public/ec567574ac79a12ec125730d004e89c6/TD_TP-002_1.pdf Thermokinetics has a beta version spreadsheet for calculations here: www.thermo-kinetics.com/documents/ASME-Ver1-4(Beta).xls The implications of a broken thermowell in steam can be quite serious. Steam service warrants an analysis of the thermowell's wake frequency generation at various flow rates. AttachmentLink_Files.zip (193 Downloads) |
