Need Sinamics G120 - CU240E-2DP Catalog hardware

Hi there,

I need Sinamics G120 - CU240E-2DP Catalog hardware to swap CU240S-DP but I can not find it in Catalog Hardware!!!

I also uploaded the latest Catalog Hardware (2016) from Siemens Site and is not there as well?

CU240S-DP is faulty (Green flashing) and I swapped it by next drive and fault moved to next drive and I couldn't find the right module then I was told that I can use CU240E-2DP instead, I changed it but didn't worked because of the different Hardware setting.

I want to swap the hardware from CU240S-DP to CU240E-2DP (Sinamics G120) but I can not find it in hardware!!!!

Anybody got experience to help me please?

which SW do you use?
For the Classic with Step V5.5 you need Starter with all G120 SSP installed.

For TIA you need Startdrive to integrate the G120 in the catalog.

Thanks, but Starter won't work on Field PG with Wincc Flex on it and when we order Field PG, it comes with Drive Monitor on it!

I tried alot in the past but wouldn't let me to install it and instead I was told to use Drive Monitor.

This project is made by S7 + Simotion but for different unit (CU240S-DP) and I have to change the unit with CU240E-2DP (couldn't find the right unit and I was told, this is the new unit to change old one).

I have tried a lot to install Starter but always gives me error.

Is there any other way?

I deleted MicroWin on Field PG M4 and installed Starter 4.4 and working OK in workshop but still have problem for going online to Drives!!

At the moment I am using Starter on Normal Laptop to go online, just one question:

P2000 on CP240S-DP is 120Hz but in CU240E-2DP should be what (as the unit is different and is rpm), I put 1500 but drive runs about 50% (Output product are Half).

How I can calculate 120Hz from old module to rpm for nuw module?

 CU 240 S - DP = Max frequency = 120 Hz ( here e.g. assume max RPM @ 120 Hz = 3000 RPM)

New CU 240E = Max RPM p 2000 = 3000 RPM (Here P2000 = max RPM & not max Hz)

After having look at motor name plate data -

 How motor is connected in delta or in star?

How much is the frequency - 50 Hz or 60 Hz?

Assuming motor winding connected in delta, supply voltage 240 volt, 60 Hz frequency, @ 120 Hz motor max speed would be 2760 i.e. P2000 should be set to 2760.

If motor winding is connected in star, supply voltage 415 volt, frequency 60 Hz, @ 120 Hz motor max speed would be 3360 i.e. P2000 should be set to 3360.

I changed the P2000 to 3312rpm (equal to 120Hz).
