Do you mean xls or xlsx or even csv (which is NOT an Excel formt!!!!!!!! its a Text file with delimiters)? you can use the Scheduled tasks for the trigger to start the Script every 1h or also in Screen Context but then you have to be sure that its loaded. for csv File there are Examples in the Help System and the Support Pages, for the Excel you can use the examples in WinCC V7.X Manual for the MS Automation Interface.
