Nested Screen Windows and TagPrefixes

Hello,

I need to set a TagPrefix of the screen window that is in a screen window. The parent window has a tagprefix already. If I try to check the tagprefix of inside screen window with GetServerTagPrefix I get concatenated tagprefixes. Is there a way to set tagprefix of inside screen window not depend on the tagprefix of the parent screen window?

to get the tagprefix you can use the internal function GetTagPrefix

 e.g.

char* pszTagPrefix = GetTagPrefix("YourScreenName.pdl","YourPictureWindowName");

 To set the tagprefix you can use SetPropChar

 e.g.

SetPropChar("YourScreenName.pdl","YourPictureWindowName","TagPrefix","NewTagPrefix"); //Return-Type: BOOL

you can use the prefix in either screen window - the inside one OR the outside one - but not in both, because, as you experienced, it adds up the prefixes.

You might be able to  use          @local:: tagname        to add a tag without a prefix in a screen with a prefix.

Note on using tags without tag prefix
From WinCC V7 you can use the @NOTP extension to use a tag outside the structure in a faceplate with tag prefix.

Example
To display the user currently logged on in an IO field in the faceplate you enter the@NOTP::@CurrentUsertag in the Configuration dialog.
