.Net Controls - Tag Connections

Propane Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have been trying to connect HMI_Tags to a .NET Control for over a week without any luck. I can add the control to a WinCC screen but not parsing Tag values between the control and WinCC. When configuring a .Net Control after adding it to a WinCC project, it is not possible to connect a custom property of the control to a HMI_Tag (Dynamization). In the System Manual for WinCC v11.0 a demo project is referenced called CCITagTestLibrary for accessing an HMI_Tag from a .NET Control. I have not been able to find this project anywhere andI am beginning to think that thisdemo project does not exist at all. I have not been able to find any additional information on the web regarding how to use the .NETData ProviderControlDev.dll for WinCC. Using the information in the system manual was unsuccessful. Has anyone found a way how to do this, or know where to find further information? I will be forever thankful. btw. I am using WinCC Advanced V11.0 SP2 (Tia Portal).

Propane Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi, As far as I know, this is not possible. It means that WinCC does not support .NET Controlsas stated. Keep this in mind before choosing WinCC as your HMI solution.

Propane Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Lets say that you would create a custom .Net Control for your WinCC project in MS Visual Studio. This could i.e. be a popup screen or faceplate for a pump, motor, valveetc. This Custom .Net Control can then be added to "My Controls" under the Toolbox. The Control can be added to a screen, but only as an independent control, thus not interacting with WinCC. This means that tag values cannot be parsed between WinCC and the custom .NETcontrol.

Aeondust Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello Propane, lets clear out some facts here for you. The sample control you are talking about is part of the Control Development Setup Bundle. In case of a Prof. Device installation it will be available under"..\Siemens\Automation\SCADA-RT_V11\ControlDevelopment\samples". Without installing the Control Development Bundle, you will be able to add .net Controls in you Prof. or Advanced Devices, but you will not be able to access the tag data provider, as a fact not be able to directly read tags. I wonder why it should still not be possible to add Tags to properties via dynamisation - maybe you need a newer Tia Portal Version. In case of accessing directly Tags inside the control you have to install the control development bundle. Here you will be able to inherit from an interface called "iTag". You will be able to write events like "OnError", or "OnWriteComplete". The execution of cyclic/acyclic read/write commands is easy handled, too.
