it's been a while now that I am searching for the solution without succes. Normally I find all I need in other topics but not this time.

First of all I'm using TIA Portal V13 and here below the hardware I have :

• CPU S7-1500
• Drives V90-PN
• Own "profinet device"

With the CPU I command several motors with the motor drives V90-PN. As the system has to be compatible for different machine types, the number of drives and the position in the network is given to the CPU by our own profinet device.

So once the CPU received the configuration, I reconfigure the Profinet network with the instruction "ReconfigureIOSystem". So far, everthing works. The settings set are; the device to enable and the interconnection. With the interconnection I'm able to change the device name acording the place of the drive in the topology.

My problem comes when I want to exchange a drive, maybe because of a hardware problem or make a test on the machine. I have different cases :

• The drive has the factory settings, no IP adress - no name, it works good. No problem wherever in the topology I change the drive.
• The new drive has a name but different of those on the network, it works good.
• I switch two motor drives. Example: drive "Drive_1" and drive "Drive_2", it could be the case maybe during the maintenance and the drives are not mounting has the same position as previous. In this case, the configuration is faulty. The error is a topological error. The CPU find "Drive_2" but with a wrong connection.
• We have a spare part already with a name, recovered drive. Same problem, the instruction find the drive and return an error.

How can I treat these cases? I would like to do it without exchangeable medium or without PC, it is why I use "ReconfigureIOSystem". Is there any instruction to reconfigure the name of an IO device. I tried "t_config" but apparently it's not possible to use it to rename the V90-PN.

Also I tried to reset all the settings directly on the drive, with the buttons, but the name is not erased.

I hope someone while able to give me an answer about that subject.

Hello,

you can try the following:

Open the properties of the PN Interface of the PLC in TIA

Go to "Advanced Options"

enable the Option "Permit overwriting of device names of all assigned IO devices"

 Thank you for your answer. This option is already enable, likewise the following:

• Use IEC V2.2 LLDP mode
• Optional IO-Device
• Set partner by user program

The problem is that when two devices have the same name, the instruction for the network configuration does not reconfigure the device at the wrong place (according the listed topology).

So the instruction return an error because the device already exist but seen from the CPU the wiring is wrong. So I would like, when I see that the configuration return an error, change the name of the device with an non-existing one and try again the configuration. In this way the name will be reconfigured correctly. 

Or maybe it exists an alternative? Maybe an instruction to reset the name and IP adress. When I am connected to the PLC with TIA Portal, with the diagnostic it is possible to reset these settings (reset to factory settings). Is there an instruction (software) that does that?

I don't think so. What I meant say with this is that I configured :

Does someone have an idea about my problem?

Maybe another way to configure the network, an instruction to rename device or to reset the default factory settings?
