Hey all, I'm doing a project with a TP1900 Comfort panel connected to a S7-315-2DP PLC's on Profibus-DP and I have noticed that the new TP1900 reacts much slower then the old ones.
I'm making a project for two almost identical installations. The HMI-Panels (both) are build with TIA-Portal V15 Update 3. Both are connected to their own S7 315-2DP CPU on Profibus DP with exact the same settings created in SIMATIC Manager Step 7 v5.5 SP4 HF8. The difference in reaction speed between both panels is very large. On the older panel everything runs very smooth. On the new panel it feels like something is going on in the background. It often reacts very slowly, making it unacceptable. You press a button and nothing happens. I have a feeling it's tag related but that's off course hard to check. I tried changing the acquisition mode from "Cyclic in operation" to "Cyclic continuous" without any luck. Also in the PLC-connection turning off "Cyclic operation" didn't change anything. Also noticed that the more data on a screen, the slower it gets. The project is build up with faceplates. I also loaded both projects to the other panels (switched them over) but the new panel is still slow! So my question: Did any off you noticed this also? And even better, have a fix? EDIT! Got a reply from Siemens support saying that the project is outside of the limits of the panel. So it's hurting the performance. Here is the link to the limits. My thought: Siemens upgraded the panel to Windows CE8.0 and that made it slower. I never had performance issues in all the years I programmed. The project we are talking about is a migration from a MP 377 19" panel which runs fine. An identical system is also running on the older TP 1900 Comfort panel with Windows CE6.0 and is also fine... So let it be a warning to all: The NEW panels are SLOWER! OLD TP1900: CPU Intel Pentium III Model 7, RAM: 349440KB, Windows CE6.0 NEW TP1900: CPU AMD SteppeEagle: RAM: 800508KB, Windows CE8.0 |

No solution. You have to keep within the limits: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/mdm/109755202?c=91274388747&lc=en-WW On the other hand. Contact Siemens support... If many do, they will see that their new slower hardware causes big issues with migrations from older panels. |
