New ET200S PN CPU.

Jesper Pedersen Posts: 279 Rating: (30)	Hi. I understand that a new CPU for the ET200S is under way with expected release in june. It shall have PN interface and 128 kB. Any more details about this CPU ? I am particularly interested in if it can work with ET200S Siwarex modules. The existing IM151-7 cannot work with Siwarex, which is shame as I could have used this CPU together with Siwarex.

The existing IM151-7 for Profibus can work with the Siwarex CS module (see also the manual of the Siwarex CS module).Also, the IM151-3 for Profinet is working with the Siwarex CS module.It is also expected, that the new PN-CPU will works with the Siwarex CS module!Why do you say, that the Siwarex CS doesn’t work?Do you have any problems with it?

Jesper Pedersen Posts: 279 Rating: (30)	Hi Siwarexi. It is the Siwarex CF that I use, not the CS. Check out the note that follows each Siwarex CF module package (I have attached it to this post). It says that it cannot work with an IM151-7 CPU. You can setup a project in STEP7 with IM151-7 and Siwarex CF modules, and there are no error messages. Jesper Pedersen Posts: 279 Rating: (30)	I hope that someone responsible for the HW Catalog in STEP7 reads this. Just to be sure that I hadn't overlooked something, I decided to try and setup an IM151-7 with firmware 1.0 and CF modules. Not only is the CF module in the list of available modules, but there is no error message when I save and compile the configuration. I guess that not many use IM151-7 and fewer use the Siwarex modules, so maybe this little problem may never have surfaced before.

Therefore there is no release for that IM. Probably, the reading of the digit-value will work with the IM151-7, Firmware 1.0, but probably not all functions (e.g. alarm-messages) are available.You need to test these functions by yourself. Jesper Pedersen Posts: 279 Rating: (30)	In the last product sheet you attached it says plainly: "Version 6ES7 151-7AB00-0AB0 V.1.0 can not be used." At the same time you can setup a HW Config with the same items in STEP7, and there will be no error message or anything. So you may be right about that it willwork, more or less. Anyway, it is not so important for me. What I needed to know is that the new PN CPU can work with Siwarex CF. Thanks for your interest.
