New firmware installed but does not boot from eMMC anymore

I wish I had read the complete text before upgrading the FW to v1.2.1, because now my eMMC is loaded with an old image which is not compatible with the new firmware and there is no way to load in to the OS any more to change the boot order...arggghh.

I have read other users struggling with the same, how to get rid of the image on the eMMC? Not possible? I connected the UART but just stops and hangs (see attached).

It says hit any key but how to stop te auto boot? It does not respond to the keys from the USB keyboard and continues booting from the eMMC which is not working.

Is there any way how to solve this?

other question, how to find any release notes on the example images/firmware? Thanks.

The firmware installer should have warned if the image version was not compatible - that was at least the theory of operation. Didn't you get that warning, or did you overruled it?

Or was the problem that you used a compatible image from SD card, but then the boot path change flipped back to incompatible eMMC? Maybe that case should be covered as well...

This was exactly the case, it did not warn me, it reverted to the original boot order with incompatible image on the eMMC:

Hi, 

I did not have indOS on the eMMC, but older incompatible example image I think.

Once I connected the TX line from computer to RX pin on X14 on IOT2050, I was able to hold the boot sequence and managed to install everything properly.

I just wanted to warn other user to prevent this inconvenience.
