razoh Posts: 81 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have installed in my laptop wincc 6.2.2 and SQL Server SP1 for the first time. When I try to create a new project or open an existing one I get the error: "The network path wasnot found" and I cannot do anything. Anybody know what I am doing wrong. Thanks

razoh Posts: 81 Rating: (0)	Hi I was the administrator when I installed both SQL 2005 and Wincc 6.2. Anyway I have reinstalled everything again and it happens the same but the error is different: "Microsoft SQL Server cannot access the database, please check access rights". I have attached a printscreen with the error. Obviously it is a problem with the access rights, I have not modified anything and when I installed SQL I choosed Default password. Anyway, I have no idea what to do.(And as I have no knowledge about that, I dont like to do experiments with the database). Thanks Attachment error.JPG (257 Downloads)

I am the administrator of my computer but....Project could not be created because SQL Server cannot access the database. Help please

DimiCamp Posts: 168 Rating: (49)	Format the machine. Make an image of your harddisk (for future possible problems). Install a Windows Version that is compatible with the WinCC version that you're planning to use.

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	This is a strange problem. So we have to look at all possible problems. Is the machine part of a domain? Is the network card not connected at all? Did you change PC name after installation of SQL sever? Take a look at this FAQ, there are many problems discussed under this, though the symptom is a bit different. razoh Posts: 81 Rating: (0)	Hello, I haven't modified the name of the computer, and the network card is ok, but.....my computer belongs to a domain. Is there any problem with this? I have check the file help in wincc about : Include user in the user group "SQLServer2005MSSQLUser$<COMPUTERNAME>$WINCC". and it does not work. I also have checked the FAQ and there is something stranage: if I open SQL Server Management Studio by defaul it is selected "Windows authentification", I can also choose SQL Server Authentification but then I need to introduce a login and password that I do not know. Is that "MIxed mode"?.Anyway I prefer not to touch the database if I am not 100% sure. Regards
