Were you logged in as an Administrator when you installed the software? Are you trying to access a folder now that requires Administrative rights? |

This is a strange problem. So we have to look at all possible problems. Is the machine part of a domain? Is the network card not connected at all? Did you change PC name after installation of SQL sever? Take a look at this FAQ, there are many problems discussed under this, though the symptom is a bit different.
