I`m looking into create a new interface towards node, communicate on NMEA seriell output.
The Siemens PLC 1500 shall only read (write access is not nessarry).

Is it possible to communiate on NMEA seriell output with Siemens 1500 PLC? what do I need of hardware and software?

String Example:$RTEF, value_tag_1,Value_tag_2_Raw,Value_tag_3,tag_4_, tag_5, tag_6,checksum

May I ask you what you want with the data in the S7?

Maybe you can provide with more information about your project.

There might be better and cheaper solutions than using a S7 for what you are planning for.
