No connection between WinCC and PLC on PLC Sim

Bekzod Tukhtashev Regular Member Joined: 2/24/2020 Last visit: 4/24/2025 Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hi there. I have a problem with checking tags of WinCC on PLC Sim.Simulator is S7-PLCSIM V17. It is working well, but there is no connection between WinCC Runtime and PLCSIM, i think. That's why I cannot check the tags of it. Any advice?

Are you trying to communicate a simulated S7-1500 and a WinCC Unified Runtime? If so, please check out this FAQ. Is the PLC protected? Make sure it allows 'HMI Access'. Also, check that the PLC Tags, in the PLC Tags table, are configured as 'Accessible from HMI/OPC'.

Could you send a screenshot of the PG/PC Interface? Likewise, it would be helpful to know the MLFB and firmware or image version of the products (PLC and RT) used in TIA V17.

itafusna Silver Expert Joined: 2/17/2020 Last visit: 4/25/2025 Posts: 1251 Rating: (235)	I still don't know the MLFB of the PLC and image/firmware version, etc. But I recommend you check the following FAQ and configure the PG/PC Interface as S7ONLINE -> PLCSIM.TCPIP.1 Which settings are necessary to establish a connection between a simulated S7-1500 and a simulated WinCC Runtime Advanced or a simulated HMI operator panel?

I have met recently with the similair problem: no connetction between WinCC Professional V17 Runtime and PLCSIM V17. However the communication between WinCC Advanced V17 Runtime and PLCSIM works well. The access point S7ONLINE has been set to PLCSIM.TCPIP.1 as it should be done. The solution was to update TIA Portal V17 to an Update 5 from the oficial website. After updating TIA Portal to Upd.5 the WinCC Professional RT can finally communicate well to a PLCSIM.
