Dox Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hi there! i am a new to this S7 plc's I do not have an MPI cable, but really want to download mysmall program to a 317-2dp CPU.I do have the following: 1 X 315-2DP CPU, 1XCP 342-1 communication processor, 1X 12bit Analog in signal module. Can anyone help by giving me instructions on how to download my program to the 315-2DPCPU without the use of a MPI cable. Thanks...

Navnag Platinum Expert Joined: 11/21/2007 Last visit: 3/16/2025 Posts: 2326 Rating: (309)	Hello Dox You need a PC-USB adaptor ( SO called MPI cable ) or a CP-5611 or CP-5711 or CP 5512 to download / upload program from CPu 315-2DP. For CPU with Ethernet ports ( e.g. CPU 315-2 PN/DP etc ) you can just use an Ethernet cable for Program Upload / Download Hope this helps Navnag

Is there no way for me to connect/go online and download my hardware/program using the CP 343-1 ? Because i do not have any of the modules you are talking about...

umencho Diamond Expert Joined: 3/21/2006 Last visit: 3/19/2025 Posts: 10239 Rating: (1183)	As 6GK7 343−1EX30−0XE0 doesn't "support" primary setup tool software in order to set IP address there you can't use it without MPI cable. Take a look at S7-CPs for Industrial Ethernet Configuring and Commissioning Manual Part A General Application(Chapter 3.9). for more. Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

You only need the MPI Cable to download Hardware configuration with CPU & CP properly configured. Once this is done, then you can upload / download through the CP 343 using a normal Ethernet Patch cable Cheers Navnag
