Hi Riaz, What's your WinCC version? V5.0 has a limitation on the amount of messages to be displayed on an alarm window of 10000, and a limitation on the database size of 2GB. An easier way to clear the runtime database can be found in this FAQ WinCC V5 has two archives, a short-term and a long-term archive. In the Alarm Logging Editor you create these archives AND specify how much data to store in each one. What kind of alarm window (short term, long term?) do you have and how is your archive configuration? The short-term and long-term archive are the same thing in WinCC V6. WinCC V5 differentiated between the two and they still remain for backwards compatibility purposes. Basically ALL alarms go into ONE archive. Tag Logging Fast is used to store values that are logged at one minute or faster and compresses the data. Tag Logging Slow stores values logged slower than a minute and does not compress the data. This one minute setpoint can be changed but it is recommended against doing this for performance reasons. The short term view is continually updated whereas the long term view remains static, i.e. you get a view from the archive which is not updated when new alarms arrive. |
