Dear all,

I'm trying to display some data from a plc onto an HMI but I can't seem to get it going.

My connection is showing up in the connections view of the project, I can select the tag, I have disabled most, if not all protection and security checks, the clock seems to be about right, but still the value just shows #######. Permit access with PUT/GET communcation from remote partner is enabled for the PLC.

I can simulate a different HMI, which enables me to show the data and manipulate the tag from the simulated HMI.

- Which TIA Portal Version do you use? (Version, Servicepack, Update)

- Do you use WinCC Basic/Comfort/Advanced Runtime or WinCC Professional Runtime or WinCC Unified (PC Based or Panel Based)?

I think Basic/Comfort/Advanced?

- Which Panel or Panel PC or PC (Version of Operating System)do you use?

CPI 1511-1 PN (S7-1500) and KTP400 Basic PN

- Look in the Properties of the Panel or Runtime, Which Version do you use in the Project?

PLC Firmware V2.9, HMI Firmware V17.0.0.0

- Create a clear Screenshot of the Problem if its Possible, because a Picture tells you more than 1000 Words

was does it show in HMI project > Connections? Is there a connection with "a cable" in the first column or does it look like "several devices connected by network"?

 It shows the 'several devices connected by a network' that you describe.

There are a few things to check:

1. Are the devices in the same IP range? Can you ping?

2. How is your PG PC interface configured?

3. Have you tried with another cable?

4. Try updating the firmware version of the panel: Firmware update for CPU 1511-1 PN

5. Try installing the last version of panel images: Image Downloads for HMI Operator Panels

6. Does the time match in both devices?

2.I'm not sure where to check for this!

3.Yes, different cable doesn't change anything, and the cable works for other applications.

4 & 5. I'm pretty sure the two versions of the firmware /image I posted are the newest for both devices.

6 . The time matches!

Please insert a Alarm view in your HMI project to show System messages (Alarm buffer)

Can you inform us about the errors you have? (incl. error number)

I've got some issue with the Alarm view so that'll take a little longer, but the CPU that we have is a 6ES7511-1AK02-0AB0, so no 3.0+ FM is available.

Dear all,

After updating to the newest versions of the firmware and a complete recompilation of the PLC and the HMI in the project, I was able to make a connection. It seems to have been a bug in some version mismatch.
