Noise on 'Thick Ethernet'

Steve Anker Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	I have an existing system with a 'thick ethernet' link between an S5 processor (CP1143-6GK1143-0TA02) and an S7 (CP443-1BX00 0XE0). Over the last few months they have experienced occasional problems with the speed of communications over this link. I have been able to monitor a heartbeat between the 2 systems which at times takes in excess of 2secs to respond (normally < 1s) The cards at both ends have been replaced, as has the thick ethernet cable, connectors and end of line resisitors. When the interference occurs it has been continues even when all drives, etc in the area have been stopped. It has been suggested that we have to fit some sort of earth filter (Schafner filter??) to both PLC's, does anyone know of anything that is available?

The by you mentioned Schaffner Filter are know in Germany.. here you may order these devices too... but I do not know if they are available in your country too.
