Hi,

Im trying to establish connection between a SCADA PC and 1500 PLC using TCON / TSEND_C Blocks with TCP protocol.

In either case im not getting Dn bit pulse. Getting 7002 as status.

But im able to see the data polling in to the PC port which im able to monitor with WireShark tool.

I tried: 1) Tcon_Param method

            2) Tcon_IP_V4 method.

also i tried the same by migrating my program to 1500 PLC. i have a program which is already working with s7-317 pn-dp PLC. i made sure connection parameters are matching as per 1500 manual.

For e.g.: after trying to establish connection (to get Done bit )with Tcon_Param method. i blocked this FC and called FC where im using IP_V4 method. when i did this im getting 80AA as status.

which means it had established connection when i tried with TCON_param method and now it is asking me to disconnect it before trying with IP_V4 method as connection ID is same.

Now if i put the plc to Stop and Back to Run once i trigger REQ im getting the same 7002 status.

Though im sure that my telegrams are reaching the PC when i look at the Wire Shark tool. im clue less why im not getting the Done bit either in Tcon_param method or IP_v4 method.

i have carefully verified all parameter settings like mentioned in the manuals in siemens website for 1500 plc to do Open user communication via TCP.

Pls guide to resolve it.

Are you saving the STATUS when you get an ERROR bit?

I am assuming you know the DONE/ERROR bits are only high for one scan, and know what the status values mean.  16#7002.

I have found that the REQ input is best triggered on DONE/ERROR, and never BUSY.

Your S7-1518 has firmware 2.1?  The F1-help says you can find the connection parameter in the inspector window of the program editor (means it will help you create it).

Be sure you are using Open user communications version 5.1 (or higher) and Version 3.2 (or higher) of the TSEND_C instruction.  If you expand the instruction pane to the left quite a bit, you can see the version selectors. 

There are also some helpful icons to the right of the options input box to update all the instructions in the instruction pane to the latest available for your hardware, and then to update your PLC program to those latest versions.  It tells you to recompile afterwards.

Doing this will match the F1-help with your instructions and increase the odds of success.

All that said, I tend to use the TCON, TSEND, TDISCON, and so on instead of doing it all in one block.

Oh, and you cannot use optimized blocks with P#DBn.DBX0.0 BYTE nn format in case you are trying.  I think it would not compile if you did, but just in case.

from my point of view I see some other mistakes but can be solved without problems. TSEND_C is block which is also block which internally has connection establishment ability, you don't need call TCON or define some other connection structure (CONN_IPV4,...). Check my attachment wher you can easy define required connection parameters which are after correct set automatically set to input parameter of TSEND block. In this case you need be carefuly with outputs monitoring (as already Huggy sugested), here are also connection statuses and also send infos which you need check. You can prepare conditions via STATUS values from TIA help and check if sequences are done as required. From your one of probably more STATUS values - 7002 is clear that you have connection established at that time and data are sent to partner (therefore you see some packet in Wireshark). I recommend again use only TSEND_C block alone.

 Thanks for your suggestions. verfied the instruction and plc firmware version. it is already matching with your suggestion.

TCON TSEND method is what is started to try with, but since siemens online pages suggested to use TSEND_C i have tried with these... tried TCON with connection parameter Tcon_param and IP_V4 method.

#7002 status means "Second call for establishing a connection"

im aware of the Done bit appearing only during first scan and thats why i have Set a bit with the done bit. but never getting it.

Pls suggest if there is any other way to ensure connection is established other than TCON done bit. As im seeing the packets already at the PC END.

im not getting Done bit. i toggle the plc from stop to run to test this after any modification to get 
Dn bit. which im Set with a Bool %m7.0 

7002 status that you are refering to is for 1200 PLC i guess. for 1500 PLC It means Second call for establishing a connection

im trying TSEND_C method with IP_V4 and also TCON TSEND with Tcon_Param and IP_V4 method in connection parameter. All are giving me same result.

in the mean time i got Done bit using TSEND_C block once i switched off the firewall. i had a rule saying All ports were open!!!

sry for mistake with S7-1200 connection picture, but same system is used for S7-1500. For STATUS value 7002 is info about second call as you've mentioned in case of S7-1500, true. I think to your previous message about some packet visible in Wireshark. In this case it can be only request for connection, no send data as I have mentioned, so my idea was wrong. I recommend again ONLY use TSEND_C with defined connection via block definition (as is in my picture), no other connection DBs or other option. Pls after that you create this, pls attach here screenshot of that connection screen how you did settings. Now it looks like that Server not accept your connection-PC side. Reasons can be more.

1. Firewall rules blocks incomming connection requests. First important option that makes all.

2. Antivirus SW.

3. pls prior making complex communications, make simple memory bit for REQ not some Clock or other combinations, can be confusing and not clear. You can set that REQ manually to TRUE, check all is done correctly or with error (also your conditions in code can make some sence) and disable after checks REQ. I recommend now omit your SCADA or other complex system and run simple TCP/IP Server SW (also Hyperterminal can be enough to test connections, data exchange) or other free SW, maybe recommend Hercules (very good SW with more functionality). This is your priority now I think.

Update: solution can be also add to Firewall permission SW that Hercules or Hyperterminal to be able accept incomming connections and data exchange.

Update2: sry forget one another hint, look again to your first post, there is info about status 16#80AA, this shows that you try make another connection with other block so this is problem to mix some sequences. Pls differ one important thing,

or

i have situation right now at clients place.

The 1518 PLC firmware version is 2.0 and Open user Communication  version is 5.

TIA is v14 SP1. I believe there will be an option to upgrade the instruction.

So it is not updated to the recommended version like mentioned in the above post.

For some reason client is disagreeing to upgrade the firmware of the CPU.

If instructions are upgrated to V5.1 That is TsendC to V3.2... will it work? Or is it mandatory to upgrade the Firmware to 2.1  ?

Pls suggest.

made test on borrowed NTB TIAv14 SP1 Upd5 via PLCSIM Adv. and exchange real data to my PC Server application via TCP/IP. I have also add TRCV_C with same connection ID and working perfectly. Nothing special, 2 DBs with optimized access in this case (I don't need send and recv from/to specific offset) and 2 _C blocks for test. Hope pictures can help you with trouble solution.
