OB 81

One of this slaves (it's a ET200s)seems to have a problem with its own power supply.Is it possible touse OB81 to make a diagnostic of power supply of that module? Or OB81 doesn't give indication for profibus slaves? Thank you.

MM1234 Posts: 270 Rating: (52)	Hello pachu, I would say that you decide those once you figure out what your program is going to be like. Firstly, you usualy have some target/requirement you are supposed to do (code a program that is gonna run on CPU this_and_that using those_and_those network elements and this_other_components doing those_and_those control operations etc.). Once you get the assignment, you start figuring it out. What is it supposed to do? What am I gonna need for it? How will I do this_and_that? What are the risks/inconsistencies that could occur in the program and how am I gonna prevent these? As you go along with the process, you get more and more detailed view of all the stuff and if you know the language/means to program, you can see from it how are you gonna program it in particular, so in case of PLC stuff what OBs to use and stuff. Obviously, if you do something small, you just don't really care so much about that thing_it_through thing and can mostly start coding it, but for bigger projects, I guess that's same as it is in any other programming, so perhaps check out some basics of software architecture process, it won't really differ that much in basics of thinking. More than that you are going to need deeper and deeper knowledge of things as you create more and more complicated stuff with bigger networks, more hardware etc.
