OLM in dusty environment

nevertheland Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Dear friends I am using ET200 pro in a material handling projects, and distance beetween each ET is about 300m. So I have to use Fiber Optic, can anybody help me if there is any kind of OLM with high IP or I should use IP65 boxes and put the OLMs inside. Thanks foe reply.

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 1/22/2025 Posts: 12330 Rating: (2702)	Hello nevertheland; In the technical specifications of the OLM-4 manual, it is mentionned that the OLMs are of protection class IP 40: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/24164176 So you have no protection against dusty environments or water. It looks like your plan to place them in an IP 65 enclosure would be advisable if your workplace is dusty. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier
