OLM12M Replacement

AutoDoc1955 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hello all, I am using OLM12Ms (6GK1 502-3BA00)throughout my steel mill and I understand that' it is an obsolete product. Questions: 1. Is its "direct replacement" (I'm using this term VERY loosely) the OLMP12? 2. If so, is there a commercially manufactured fiber converter to get from the existing male end of my fiber to a BFOC male that will plug into the new OLM? 3. If not (and I believe this will be the case), is hacking off the end of the existing plastic fiber and terminating with a BFOC (aka ST) a practical operation in the field? 4. Suppose I have a 12M fiber daisy chain, and one in the middle fails. Can I just drop in a P12 (understanding thatI will have to get proper mechanical fiber connections), and have it happily talk to the 12Ms on either end?

The replacement suggested is the OLMP11.
