You have to insert a textbox from your Toolbox, Basic Object. Mark it and se the properties for that object |

Hi. For the moment I have no way of knowing what you want to do. If you can ZIP your HMI project and add it here, it might help. It may also help you to look at the project example: Focus on the HMI part of the example. It is not the same device, but much of the workings are the same. Where they use touch buttons, you will use hardware buttons only. Look through the document and work through all the properties of all the elements. It is a bit difficult to explain the fundamentals in text. See if you cannot convince someone closer to you to give you the 30minute kick-start tour. Good luck. |

Andrew, I hoped I would understand what you want to do after seeing the project you sent. But I failed at that. I would think you would want to select between AUTO and MANUAL modes with F1 and F2. It does not make sense to me to have "while pressed" on there. I would expect "set bit" and "reset bit". F1 ... (a) set AUTO (b) reset MANUAL Also the SETPOINTS are bits where I expect to see VW word memory defined as INT data type. Regardless.... From what I understand what you ask, I have added some elements in your program. Note that I have added VW0 memory that is grouping bits V0.0 to V1.7 together as a unit. VW0 is then used to display a message. WARNING: Message 9 is linked to V0.1 and Message 0 is linked to V1.0. Pictures are also included to try and guide you further. w AttachmentProjectWithPics.zip (113 Downloads) |

Hi I have added a copy of the program. I have cut it down for this. I have added F1 and F2 and they are working with the logo fine. I have added what i think is the way to get the message as per some of the examples that have be given. So what i am trying to achieve is that a message will be shown when the relevant button has been pressed. When i do the the messages within the software all i get is a blank box on the screen. I am sure that when it has been shown i will be able to implement it to the other buttons. Thanks Andrew

Andrew, Thanks for the sample piece. There is background info that you need to know to make it work.. I have failed to demonstrate and tell you about that information. What really need is a tutor.. which I cannot be for you. Do think about visiting someone to give you a kick-start. Focussing on the functionality, attached is another design idea. It uses an internal variable as an indicator. Some notes follow. Consider simulating in this way: The tags were moved to new lists. Special attention to the single internal tag. A comment is also typed in the tag for you to read There are some objects on top of each other. All the objects are visible in the layers view. You can press the eye symbol to hide a layer of objects. The objects in Layer 2 are special and contain visibility animation settings. You will note that all the F buttons now have events. Inspect the differences among them. F1 and F2 has a different format than the rest. You can also inspect the changes in the text list. Simulate the HMI. The AUTO and MAN states changes as you press the F1 and F2 buttons. The text indicates which button is pressed. This does not give feedback (text message) if the PLC received the message or not. What are your thoughts? AttachmentMESSAGES_V2.zip (122 Downloads) |

Hi I have attached a copy of the program so far i have added some extra tags to the buttons and it works perfect thanks to the help given. Our emergency stop is controlled via a safety relay and follows all the guide lines for the safety circuits as this is the main core of our work installing safety systems. I have also added a text box that is hidden on the main screen and only becomes active from the estop healthy signal AttachmentMESSAGES_V3.zip (148 Downloads) |
