I came her via the topic "What are the requirements for installing STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V13" (not V12!) Nice to here Siemens has a new Step7 version but I am worried the route Siemens is following will abandon more and more users. The time everything was growing to the sky is behind us. The minimum system requirements listed in the above topic is the MAXIMUM specifications of a modern laptop. The Step7 TIA version seems to have grown to a waterhead. This is not the first time with Siemens, other waterheads were: - WinCC flexible - Starter and now Step9 (Step7 TIA). I am working for the industry and have to do my work within certain physical and natural limits. The practice of Siemens is less and less a choice for me. It's a pitty, Siemens hardware is good but its software is harder and harder to maintain. In medical terms TIA stands for Transient Ischemic Attack; at Siemens it stands for a slowly developing but fatal disease. This also means there is still time for Siemens to return to human proportions. |
