one servo motor for U/W axes in 840D sl

Balu_M Posts: 69 Rating: (1)	Hi, I am retrofitting one horizondal borer machine with 7 axes and one spindle. we are using 840D sl controller. The axes configuration are X,Y,Z, V,B, U/W AND SP. all the axes are connected with external Encoder. U and W axes are separate feedback system and connected with one Servo motor. there is clutch mechanism to select the U or W axis. I want to display U and W axes separatly on the monitor and How to confiure nc side and plc side. thanks for your reply, regards, Balu

It is an Option application, option has to get it form siemens.After entering an option in your System.You can enter the Drive no,control out module no,Control out type same as U axis for W axis. For reference you can refere in DOCON cd / Manual special functiones (S9)

Find the attached file, in that ihave used 3 axis set point exchange.Spindle is main axis, A & C are switch over axis. Attachment FC100.pdf (90 Downloads)
