Partial donwload and download in run is a good knew requirement, and they will be supplied in the new versions of STEP 7 Basic.

Look at In STEP 7 V11, how do you download/upload a single data block into/out of the S7-1200 CPU without overwriting the monitored values? best regards, Hhristo MIhalev

Because I don't have expirience yet with newer TIA Portal, please clarify the issue. What does it mean edit-on-line? To download the project the CPU is in STOP. Have you been tried it in TIA 11?
