only 31 OP277 can establish connection to CPU simultaneously

Nos Advanced Member Joined: 1/7/2007 Last visit: 3/7/2021 Posts: 15 Rating: (1)	Dear colleagues, In one of our project we have faced very strange problem: during system expansion we have added some DP as well as OP277 (all devices connected to the same PFOBIBUS network separated to six segments by repeaters). Now total number of DP (ET200M) is 17, OP277 is 32. At CPU Side located CPU416-2DP, Profibus network connected to X2 terminal. The problem is only 31 OP277 can establish connection to CPU simultaneously. We put a lot of our efforts to changePFOFIBUS profilesettings, but without any visible success, All panels accessible from ES for download, but as I already state above only 31 of them can communicate to PLC. Stopping Runtime on one of panels allow to other to establish connection. Inside WinCC Flex "Panel is only master on the BUS" is checked, "Cyclic operation" is disabled. Any ideas?

If it's an older one, it could very well be that 31 OP's is the maximum number of OP's it supports, so I suggestyou check the technical spec of it. If this is indeed the case and you need more OP's on it, I fear you'll have to upgrade to a newer 416 CPU (a 416-2NX05supports up to to 63 OP's for example) In any case, please disable "Panel is only master on the BUS"on every OP. I hope this helps

According to the manual, up to 63 OP without message processing or up to 12 OP with message processing can be connected. In our case is only one panel with messages processing. Regarding "Only master on bus" - we already attempted to establish connection with this parameter unchecked, but withoiut success...

Moreover, if RT is stoped in one of the OP (even in other segment), the last one establishes connection to CPU.

Hello, Do you stop always the same OP? If you stop another OP, is it the same behaviour? Can you unplug an ET200 from the Profibus? Do all panels connect with the plc? Tweety

Unfortunately, we can't disconnect ET200. It will be possible onlyduring next planned plant shutdown. All panels connected with PLC on the same bus.
