DBW0 T DB100.DBW50 LDB (new DB). DBW2 T DB100.DBW52 Hello again, Then all friends here advice to create a new DB.Very good. But I think if the old two words of Screen No. Area Pointer is not already used within the software (This can be easily checked by X-Ref., there's no need to move the first two words of new DB (which represents first two words of area pointer of new panel) to the old DB. This step is not necessary. Specialy I am not sure that data structure of the first two words of new panel are pointer is the same with old one. OP177B (Screen No.) Area Pointer : 5 Words OP17 (Screen No.) Area Pointer : 2 Words So why we take only the first two words and neglect other 3 words?!

Thanks In this case you have to see the manual of OP17 and see what is being written in the double word of area pointer and also see where is the same info is being written in case of OP177B. I can not be sure that you have to use first two words (first DWORD). I can not neglect other 3 words. Hope this helps.

Hello, If you have both OPs connected to the system (with different addresses), then you can monitor both area pointers in both data blocks and see what is being written in them when you activate same screen on both panels. Otherwise, if the old screen is deffected, he should back to manuals. Hope this helps.

In my case the protool screen has been broken out into a number of wincc screens each with a distinct number. Taking the example I used earlier of the PLC code checking what screen is active before executing an instruction, then this functionality will not be available for any of the new screens (numbers wont match). Without being able to see what is happening in the PLC code I think cannot proceed with any certainty of what impact this will have.

If the old Panel (OP17) is damaged, then we have to read manuals to understand the area pointer structure. In any case, Normally in Protool/Pro, Screen No. Area Pointer length is 2 Words. 1st Word: Screen No. 2nd Word: Screen Data entry No. How can you make a screen selection on an OP3 via the controller? In WinCC flexible Screen No. : 2nd Word Screen Field No. (Data Entry No.): 4th word. Please see attachment from WinCC flexible help. Hope this helps.
